Learning & Networking Reception

Overview
All students and professionals are encouraged to join us at the closing of Day 1 on March 7th for a special networking reception designed to connect them with other attendees who use their chosen field or personal role to better the lives of others. You will also have the opportunity to learn valuable information from featured speaker Dr. Anne Light, Medical Director of Orange County Social Services Agency on "The Trauma of Maltreatment."
Whether you are attending this learning and networking reception in your role as a student, parent, professional, or community member, you will leave inspired and equipped with the knowledge and contacts necessary to make a difference in your school, community, neighborhood, or workplace.

Objectives
After Dr. Light's presentation, participants should be able to:
- Identify the neuroanatomic changes produced by trauma
- Relate these changes to behavior
- Understand the mechanism of best-practice therapeutics
Training approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 14988 for 1 contact hour. Credits received through the Orange County Department of Education.
1 hour of CMEs offered through American Academy of Pediatrics.
1 hour of RN CEs offered through Orange County Department of Education.
1 CE Credit offered through Health Care Agency for CAMFT.

Dr. Anne Light is the Medical Director of the Orange County Social Services Agency where she works to create interdisciplinary programs to support children and families. She is currently leading and developing the WE CAN Coalition: Working to End Child Abuse and Neglect. This Coalition has more than 150 members from across Orange County organized into 9 task forces in order to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of maltreatment in children, families and communities.
